Music Ministry
At Second Baptist Church, we believe that music should be an integral part of our worship services. Every service includes robust congregational singing of psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Our music is directed to the Lord and to God's people for the purpose of encouragement and edification.
We have an adult church choir which rehearses every Sunday evening at 5:15 p.m. and sings during our Sunday morning and evening worship services. Many people that visit our services comment that hearing our choir minister through song is a huge encouragement to them. Anyone that would like to participate in this wonderful ministry is invited to join us for a practice sometime. |

Offertories are performed by our pianists and organists, with an occasional song performed by other instrumentalists.
Our church orchestra is open to woodwind, brass and strings players, and accompanies our congregational singing during both Sunday services. The skill of our instrumentalists and the rich quality of their sound provides a depth to the music at Second Baptist that is loved by congregants and visitors alike.
Handbell Choir performs during special occasions, such as our Missions Conference and Christmas Cantata. We have three octaves of handbells, and a complimentary set of handchimes. Teenage and adult volunteers practice on Wednesday afternoons for several weeks before a performance is to be given. Second Baptist is extremely thankful for our "ringers," and the full tones that fill our auditorium is a blessing to all who hear.
